What you need

A Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11 PC, x64, with 1 GB free and an internet connection. 8 GB of memory recommended.

A free Gemini key

Spike thinks and speaks with Google's Gemini, using your own free key from Google AI Studio. The app walks you through it in a minute.

A microphone, if you like

Talk to him with any microphone, or don't: you can always type. Speech is turned into words on your computer.

Spike for Android is ready to download. Open it and he is straight there: his face, Face Studio, a pat, a boop.

Explore straight away. Face Studio, his face, pats and boops, with nothing to set up.
To talk, remember, play, do tricks or drive the robot, he needs his brain. Paste a free Google Gemini key in the app, or scan the pairing code from Spike on a Windows PC.
Alarms need the PC. They are kept by Spike on your computer.
An optional backup voice. In Settings you can choose to download an offline voice, from the open-source sherpa-onnx project, not from SpaceZ.

How to install it

On your phone, tap the Download button and save the file.
Open the file when it finishes.
If Android asks, allow installs from your browser. It is called “Install unknown apps”.
If Google Play Protect warns about an unknown app, tap “More details”, then “Install anyway”.
Open Spike.

To update, download the newer file and install it over the top. Your data stays.

Spike is not on Google Play yet, so Google has not scanned it. That is why Android warns you. All releases are on GitHub.

His memories, your alarms and your settings stay on your computer. Your Gemini key is kept in Windows' protected storage and sent only to Google.
